Altek digitizers on Solaris2.3

Hello,

Has anyone had success using v.digit with Altek digitizers while running
GRASS4.1 under Solaris 2.3 ?

Has anyone had success using v.digit with any digitizers while running
GRASS4.1 under Solaris 2.3 ?

Little Rock District has an Altek model 30 digitizer that can't communicate
with their machine, a Sparc10 running Solaris 2.3. The v.digit program
works, but not for digitizing new data. The diagnostics program to test
for communication between GRASS and the digitizer doesn't give any useful
info because it doesn't wait for any button pushing but rather it just runs
constantly. The digcap and /digitizers format files all look fine:

Little Rock's digcap file

# EVERYTHING BELOW THIS LINE ARE ACTUAL DESCRIPTIONS:
#Calcomp:/dev/ttya:cc95f23_16:Calcomp digitizer, format 23 (binary)
altek:/dev/ttya:al30f8_16:Altek digitizer, model AC30, format 8 (binary)
none:nodig:nofile: Run digit without the digitizer.

Their /dev directory, however does contain linked files:

$ ls -la ttypc
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 Nov 25 16:07 ttypc -> ../devices/pseudo/p
tsl@0:tty

Could this be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.
