In "GIS Europe" you can find a lot of special books on GIS/CAD/CAM etc.
As textbook for uni courses you could use M.S.Monmonier, but there exist
also German and Russian lecture notes...
It depends on what you are interested in (geodesy, photogrammetry, cartography
and/or mapping information systems...).
