colors in vector maps

Hello everybody,

I was just digitizing a map with v.digit. After labeling and adding categories
I came to the point of adding colors to the different categories, but I
couldn´t find a hint about a module to do that (most of the tutorials are
dealing with the procedure of digitizing). How can I do that for display as well
as prints?

Is there any possebility to generate a postscript file with ps.map or other
modules instead of sending the map straight to the printer?

Thank you

Rainer

Hi, Rainer,
Although GRASS vector maps don't lend themselves to having multiple
colors, check out d.vect.cat.

Yes, by default, the paramater "output=xxx.ps" let you put the
result in xxx.ps. And you can look at it with ghostview before
printing...
