Would it be possible to set up grassp-list and grassu-list
as Internet news groups. I would really prefer this
arrangement.

Actually, I would prefer this too. The problem may be
getting enough yes votes for their creation and finding
some good software to do the gatewaying (since there
will definitely be people who cannot read it this way).
A negative may be that the SNR will decrease (e.g., look
at some of the knuckleheads on comp.infosystems.gis).
Personally, I've just gotten some better mail reading software
(called "vm") that let's me get a better handle on the situation. If a
significant number of people really want to have a newsgroup,
I can look into it.
