Is there someone here who is knowledgeable about creating
GRASS dems who is willing to generate a dem or 3 from our
test dataset for this experiment?
If you want to generate a synthetical DEM, you
can use
r.surf.fractal
http://www.geog.uni-hannover.de/grass/grass5/html_grass5/html/r.surf.fractal.html
It generates DEMs from given fractal dimension.
Yesterday I updated the module to GRASS 5 with FP support,
I put it on the hannover server into
GRASS 5 -> source -> experimental (GRASS 5 beta5i).
