If your site have GRASS4.1 installed, you should be able to
find a command "i.in.erdas" which will do the job you required. The
source code is in alpha section of the GRASS distribution.
In another way, you may use "i.tape.other" to read in a
ERDAS LAN file by skipping 128 byte header and selecting the BIL
format. Rest of the information could be found from the output of
running ERDAS LISTIT command.
