I haven't responded because I thought one of the gurus would, but I
seem to recall having to write an awk script to label DXF files
before. I'd take a look at the DXF file and see if you can see a way
to extract the label with one of the vertices to make a dig_att file.

I have tried many times to both import and export DXF files with GRASS.
I have never been able to keep labels of any kind with the file. I have even
posted the question several times throughout the past couple of years and
no one has been able to help me.
If you do find a way please post to the list
