However, how can changes in the .grassrc file take effect WITHOUT
exiting and re-starting GRASS? A simple Bourne shell script (inspired by
GIS.sh) as follows does NOT do the job UNLESS Zhian exits, then restarts
GRASS:
A quick-and-dirty solution, provided that one invariably wishes to start a
monitor after using this script to change sizing variables, is to embed the
'd.mon' command within the script itself, and feed it the necessary
arguments.
