I'm unable to open tickets so I send this message to the list.
The ISO specs 19115 and the ISO19139 ask for FileIdentifier of a free-text
don't speak anything of UUID value for that field.
Instead this seem to be a need for GeoNetwork.
Infact if for FileIdentifer / parentIdentifier is used a value not UUID valid,
GeoNetwork don't show correctly the relation parent/child in the default showing page.
This is a not obviously bug meanwhile one create and read all metadata inside geonetwork,
but it became more evidently when was tried to import in geonetwork some
metadatas coming from other metadata iso19115 editors.
I have a couple of metadata that show this problem.

After a "batch import" of both (parent/child )
if tried to show GN show a relation parent/child empty.
This is due to the not UUID nature of their FileIdentificator.
