[GeoNetwork-devel] Any instrutions for begin the development?

Hi, I am a new GeoNetwork User comes from Taiwan.
I’m interesting to develop a website of our local data.
But I am not good with Java programming.
I find a lot of data from the associated website, now I only know to customlize the webPages.

Now I have some questions, hope somebody could help me.

  1. How to develop GeoNetwork in Eclipse(europa edition)?
I stet up the Eclipse and retrieval from CVS for GeoNetwork, but I don’t know what the next step is.
Should I set and install a web container like Tomcat / Jetty? How do I set container in Eclipse?

2.Are there documents of Software Analysis or Software Design about GeoNetwork?
I think the documents will more helpful than Javadoc for me…

Thanks.
Best Regards.

Check out some of the recent emails on the list (on nabble for instance) on how you could use Eclipse and an embedded Jetty instance to develop, build and run the application.

Make sure you use the SVN instead of the (old) CVS code

There are a couple of workshop sessions in presentation format on the geonetwork-opensource.org website that could help you to better understand the structure and internal workflows of the project.

Ciao,

Thanks.
