Hi all,
We are running GeoNetwork on 64 bit machine . Now there are 26K metadata records in the GeoNetwork, and the lucene index file is 200M. We have tested in the GeoNetwork with 500K metdata records while the lucene file is 5G, and it worked.
Now I am wondering if GeoNetwork can handle 1 billion metadata records and What's the best way to create the spatial index for the 1 billion records?

Hi Kai,
I’m not sure how the performances will be affected (I mean very degrade) once one billion records will be inserted and indexed… Let us know what’s the result.
Whatever it does, concerning the spatial index you should rather use PostGIS to handle it. It is very likely for larger catalog.
Cheers,
