[GeoNetwork-devel] Can GeoNetwork hide content of the XML elements to the public [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi All,

We have a situation where we want to include some information in the
metadata, such as a person's name, but we don't want that information to be
seen by the public for, let's say, privacy reasons.

Does GeoNetwork allow editors to hide the content of elements to the public?

If not, I notice that there is an attribute called 'gco:nilReason' which can
have a value of "withheld". Maybe GN could be configured so if it found an
element with the gco:nilReason attribute value equal to "withheld" then all
the content of that element and its subelements could be hidden. Is this a
good idea? Is it easy to configure?

Surely someone else has had this need.

Thanks.
