[GeoNetwork-devel] Can the administrators username and password be changed without using GeoNetwork login [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi All,

I have had a modified BlueNet MEST (GN Version 2.2.0) configured and setup on our server. I have tried to login as administrator to GN using the Username and Password interface. I keep getting the following error:

"
Login Error
The username or the password is wrong.Press the 'back' button and try again.

UserLoginEx : User login failed

Back to previous page
"

I don't want to re-install GN because it will probably override all the customisation that was done on GN. The setup has been checked into Subversion.

I believe it has been configured with Tomcat and McKoi.

Is there anyway of finding out via the configuration files if the username and password has been switched off?

Is there anyway of changing the administrator's username and password via the configuration files? If so what configuration files do I look in?

Thanks.

Hi John,
A quick way is to insert the default password directly in the database and change it after successful login. The encrypted string you need to put in the password field in the user table (for your admin account obviously) is d033e22ae348aeb566fc214aec3585c4da997
after that insert you can login using the pw admin. I’m sure there are other ways, but this may be a quick shortcut.
Ciao,
Jeroen

Hi,

I’m trying to run an OAI harvest and am running into an exception.

Who is the implementer of the OAI Harvester?

I would like to have some one on one to see what it’s expecting and the order it sends the OAI API verb calls in, resumption tokens etc.

Cheers,

Kevin Gunn

Hi,

The exception is a result of the OAI Harvester sending a POST, and we were expecting it to be sending a GET as content is being returned. Looking through the source there is a Transport class that handles the HTTP client request, and the default http method is POST. Was the OAI harvester designed this way to use POST for the OAI requests?

Cheers,

Kevin
