[GeoNetwork-devel] Cannot install Latest Trunk GeoNetwork -SVN GN uuid error

Hi,

I am trying to install the latest GeoNetwork from trunk. And I seem to be
having issues with the subversion repository. The error states:

/Repository at C:\tomcat7\webapps\geonetwork\WEB-INF\metadata_subversion has
uuid 964da7ad-1157-4e24-b0fb-698ab5147f1b which does not match Geonetwork
siteId of 7b0af38b-a3ab-49af-9ebe-0e6b4563e576 at
org.fao.geonet.kernel.SvnManager/

The metadata_subversion uuid of 964da7ad... seems to stay consistant with
multiple install attempts will the GeoNetwork siteId changes between
install. A little suspicious me thinks.

Please help.

A bit further research -

I have tried changing the site id of subversion to match that off GeoNetwork
using svnadmin setuuid, but on restart, GeoNetwork launches with a new
siteId and I still have the same problem.

Hi Byron,

Remove the metadata_subversion dir manually just for the moment.

The error message is out of date. The subversion repository id is now held in the database and doesn't need to match the geonetwork siteId (which changed from a uuid last week).

I'm refactoring this now to be a little more forgiving by allowing it to re-create repositories that are empty - you won't need to do this manual removal then.

siteId changed back to uuid since then it seems :-). Anyway, the rest of the email applies - the subversion repo id is in the database. If the repo id from the database doesn't match the id of the repo found on disk AND the repo has changes in it then the error message about mismatched repo ids will be returned so as to avoid starting up with an inconsistent repo - otherwise the repo will be recreated.

Thanks for the reply. I got around the problem by editing the config.xml and
setting the value of the parameter useSubversion to false. It started up
fine after that.

I look forward to seeing this subversion integration, but do not have an
immediate need at present so all is good.
