Hi Francois
I have checked a bit the Angular Admin for the batch processes and I’m thinking about adding a new option next to Batch process, name Batch replacements with a similar design as the actual popup displayed in the search UI. This way the search UI is simplified and possibly more consistent to have in the administration panel.
The Batch process form seem retrieving the list of params (fixed list seem?) from the process, but for replacements seems nicer to have a more elaborated form.
The list of parameters is configurable by process (https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/blob/develop/web-ui/src/main/resources/catalog/config/batch-process-cfg.json) so it could be extended to support more elaborated control for your process ? BTW MassiveReplaceContent looks quite similar to BatchXSLProcessing and combining the 2 is probably a bit of work.
So maybe for the time being, the feature should be integrated as it is… Also If we still target GN3.x to be based on Angular, it could be nice to have new proposals using it.
Cheers.
Francois
Let me know if makes sense about this or otherwise what is your preference, as really would like to get the feature integrated.

Jose García

Hi Francois
The original work was done for 2.6.x, not sure if batch process stuff was there and also the customer wanted some “easier” UI.
Anyway I’m in favour to integrate this feature in the batch process page, but I need to take a look how configurable is the UI to request parameters for the process. Maybe we can discuss this in IRC next week?

Hi, it also looks similar to the batch process page which are available from the admin UI https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwyvNKYgG4ZWZV9mMUk4WU01WU0/edit?usp=sharing with some new feature like changes report but without some others like progress report.
Can’t we find a way to combine those features in the same UI ?
Also, adding too many features in the search UI make it more and more complex, I think in the future we should find a way to keep the search UI simple and move some advanced editor features to a separate page.

Dear PSC,
Here is the proposal for the metadata massive replacements: https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/wiki/Metadata-Massive-Replace
This proposal adds a new feature to apply a massive replacement process in the content of metadata records selection. The feature is focussed in iso19139 metadata, but can be extended in the future to other non iso19139 profiles.
You can find the code changes in this pull request: https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/pull/472
Looking forward to your votes.
Thanks,
Jose García
