hi,
i have a problem with geonetwork version 2.9.0 from GIT when trying to
compile it in Eclipse.
After importing the source code in eclipse i always get an error regarding
the dbmspool.java class. When i look at the code, it is quite obvious that
i'm getting errors because the class dbmspool isn't defined. Due to I'm not
familiar with the geonetwork source code, i can't get it work by adjusting
the source code.
I tried it with an older version of geonetwork (v. 2.6.x) and there worked
everything fine, but the java classes for dbmspool have changed from version
2.6 to version 2.9.
Has someone got the same problems? how can i solve this error? Thanks in
advance.
regards

There is a trash directory in the source folder that you need to right click on and select the Build Path > Exclude
The compile errors are the files in that directory. I am not sure why we are keeping them around. I personally think we can safely delete them now.

hi,
thanks for this advice. Now it's compiling without errors.
But now i have another problem. I have installed the plugin run jetty run in
eclipse to start geonetwork in eclipse. This worked fine with the 2.6.x
version of geonetwork. But with the 2.9.0 version nothing happens when i
start geonetwork-main with run as "Run Jetty" (via run jetty run plugin).
What do i have to do to run geonetwork-main in eclipse? I don't get any
errors and some jar files are loaded form .m2 repository
...
ProjectClassLoader:
entry=C:\Users\schwarz\.m2\repository\javax\media\jai_core\1.1.3\jai_core-1.1.3.jar
ProjectClassLoader:
entry=C:\Users\schwarz\.m2\repository\javax\media\jai_imageio\1.1\jai_imageio-1.1.jar
ProjectClassLoader:
entry=C:\Users\schwarz\.m2\repository\javax\media\jai_codec\1.1.3\jai_codec-1.1.3.jar
...
but then nothing happens.
when i entering the url in browser (localhost:8080/geonetwork-main) i get
following error.
---
HTTP ERROR 404
Problem accessing /geonetwork-main/srv/eng/home. Reason:
NOT_FOUND
---
i think jetty isn't found. is there a work around available for this
problem?
thanks in advance.

I have always ran jetty from commandline with configured jrebel. Then I attach to the remote vm with eclipse.
