Hi All,
First of all happy new year.
Secondly, I would just like to point out that ISO 19115 stipulates in the
data dictionary that ISO 639-2 should be used for the "language" element .
That is, the three letter code for languages. EG. "eng".
Probably now is a good time to switch to the three letter code. Just a
suggestion. ;--)
Thanks.
John

Subject: Re: [GeoNetwork-devel] Config.xml for languagesPatrizia, we already have long name in the main page. Do you
know other
pages which are displaying short name ?Not really Tim, I would like to have a list of languages
supported by the
current node and that configuration should be set up easily by the
administrator. We already have a complete list of languages
in the ISO19115
schema. For instance, if you want to change default language, you
need to edit the
config.xml; if you want to hide or add languages in the
banner, you need to
update the banner.xsl; and now I need a list of language available for
thesaurus.
So I would prefer to have all this options into the config.xml.Clearly we will continu to use ISO_639 ... and maybe move to
alpha-3 code
space ...Francois

Objet : Re: [GeoNetwork-devel] Config.xml for languagesHi Frangois,
Happy New Year to you too!
If I understand you correctly, you want to have a more or
less complete list
of language codes like "en", "fr", etc, to add them to
config.xml, right? Those are defined by ISO, and more or less copied by IANA
(USA) for web/XML
use.
Check out for instance:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_639 and the further links on
that page.Greetings,
Tim
