[GeoNetwork-devel] Full printing PDF Metadata

Hello,

Install the version 1.2 of GeoNode on Ubuntu Server 12.04 64bit server, and then of course Geonework install the 2.6.2 version.

My question is this:

I’m trying to print PDF of complete metadata in GeoNetwork but only prints:

  1. the summary
  2. keywords
  3. Scheme
  4. unique identifier

And according to my configuration, a download link metadata which directs me to a page where metadata are displayed …

Would it be possible that instead of a download link metadata to show me the same PDF file download? …

It is the option that is on the menu: → Print to PDF.

So it appears to me you have made a search. Selected a metadata then performed a print on that selection. That is not intended to print the full metadata. Just print a summary of the selected items.

DO I understand the problem correctly?

You’re right.

Then, the complete print PDF of metadata is not possible with the version that I have installed. That functionality will come with a newer version or not?

In the new version there is a PDF print option. FOr example:

http://ids.pigma.org/geonetwork/srv/fre/pdf?uuid=23fd6088-0e69-4e16-89a0-ad0854119e5e

I think that is more or less the default PDF print now. (With some custom branding I am sure).

Also with a bit of development you can have an output like geocat.ch has:

http://www.geocat.ch/geonetwork/srv/eng/pdf?uuid=b7630e06-7e06-4ab0-9ed5-9fd2e66b6433

The difference between the two is that the first is an xslt transform that creates a PDF. This means that it is not identical to the output of the metadata.show service. The second option (the one used by geocat). Takes the HTML and converts it a PDF it is literally identical to the output of the metadata.show output.

The first is available in 2.8 and 2.10. The second would have to be ported to the system.
