I have noted that automatic thumbnail creation does not work when harvesting, did you have any ideas on how to fix this?

If you don’t provide the WMS to test with and the harvester configuration you’re using, we can’t really try to reproduce.
So far, the feature works properly using http://geoservices.brgm.fr/geologie WMS1.3 for example.

Ok thanks Francois, i’ll test if i can harvest with thumbnails from that server and let you know.
i couldn’t get it to work in 3.00 but was concentrating on other things.

I have tested wms 1.3 harvest and i can harvest the records but not create thumbnails. images look to be broken.
I’ll have a closer look at the file structure in the morning, to see if any images were actually created on the server.

Hi Francois,
I have an alias to my internal dns do that the server is running as it would externally and i can now see the thumbnails as created when harvesting the server you included.
I will test harvesting from my geoserver again and let you know the outcome.

Hi Francois,
I have investigated the automatic thumbnail creation and have it working now.
The reason it was failing is because of the url being used to access the server.
I was including the full version and getcapabilities request eg: service=wms&version=1.3.0&request=GetCapabilities
which works ok to harvest the records but causes the thumbnails to fail.
I shortened the url down to ows? and everything is working fine.
