I think it would be useful to at least allow the user to enter the
username and password so that they can reload the page with these
credentials.
The problem is not only related to expired sessions. I sometimes
distribute url to restricted metadata records to users. And when clicked,
they get this message. I always have to tell them to login to the system
first prior to clicking on the link. Same goes for bookmarked metadata
records - need to login before selecting bookmark.
