Hi List,
I am pretty new to GeoNetwork. Have managed to install and configure the system to run.
I need to redesign the interface but I am failing to lacate the code that generate the html. I know its located in “/geonetwork/srv/en
” folder but i cant find it on my machine.

/web/geonetwork/xsl
The HTML is generated by XSLT, as you’ll see.
Good luck !

Hi Tiwonge,
Just in few words, here you have the geonetwork mechanism.
Have a look to the config xml files under the WEB-INF repository, they define services your are accessing using url /geonetwork/srv/en/ANY_SERVICES (such as main.home).
These services return XML in output which is handled or not, depending on services, by xsl stylesheets.
So, if you want to modify the interface, have a look to the xsl files under the repository /web/geonetwork/xsl.
HTH,
Cheers,
Mathieu

Hi Tiwonge,
maybe you could take a look at the materials of the 2006 Geonetwork workshop at http://geonetwork-opensource.org/documentation/workshops/workshop-2006/geonetwork-opensource-workshop-april-2006
There are a couple of very good tutorials about interface costumization, I hope it helps you.
