[GeoNetwork-devel] GeoRSS does not validate

Hi,

I have been making some local changes to the RSS feed, as it doesn’t validate for me as is. I used this validator available under the firefox tools menu.

Main items that caused the failure.

  • Multiple sub-elements in the element. Fixed by removed distribution online links.

  • The date format used for the element, needs to be RFC822. Fixed by adding new element to info generator for metadata record.

  • The use of the media:content and media:text elements. Just commented these out.

  • Removed the xml comments.

  • For the thumbnail hrefs, needed to have full path to thumbnail.

Maybe it doesn’t matter that the validation fails, or it’s the validator that I’m using that’s the issue. Just thought I’d put this out there for some comments and feedback.
