[GeoNetwork-devel] GN3.0.0 release planning

Dear PSC,

Following last codesprint discussions and about the release of GeoNetwork 3.0.0, I would like to propose the following:

  • The release date for:
  • the first RC release is the 16th March [1]
  • the final 3.0.0 is planned for mid-April
  • The nightly build [2] is available for users who would like to test it and report issues on github [3]
  • All releases will be published on sourceforge - I’ll take care of that

Any comments on that proposal?

We could have IRC meeting tomorrow morning 11AM ECT if there is anything to be discussed.

Cheers.

Francois

Hi Francois

Sounds fine to me.

Should be updated the page https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/milestones with the mid-april date for 3.0.0?

Jose García

Yep, I was thinking renaming it to 3.0.0RC0 and adding a new one for 3.0.0.
I will do that.

There is no blocking issues for the time being. Remaining issues (https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A3.0.0RC0) could be addressed for the next one.

release planned for next week.

ok. Better if you can send a message five minutes earlier on this same
list, just in case... Sometimes I focus too much

Cheers.

Hi All,

2015-04-13 8:13 GMT+02:00 Francois Prunayre <fx.prunayre@anonymised.com>:

Dear all,

we're getting closer to the 3.0.0 release date.

There is still some issues to be closed :

https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A3.0.0

Is there any work (not described on github) to be done on your side
before the release ?

On my side, I have some minor improvements to cover before the release
(mainly in the editor) to be made before next week.

For those of you who are available, I propose to have an IRC meeting
tomorrow 10:00 CET to discuss the release.

IRC was pretty quiet yesterday, but we had a look to the remaining issues
with Florent today.

https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A3.0.0

I propose to postpone the release date to 28th April to have time to
cover remaining issues. Any objections ?

Cheers.

Francois

Cheers.

Francois

Hi

Not sure if someone had time to review about this pull request:

be applied after RC0 is released.

Hi,

I have tested it but as we are both working on the same project with
the same point of view, maybe it is good that an external person reviews it.

Hi all, for information I’ll create the 3.0.x branch around 12h CET today and change develop branch version to 3.1.0-SNAPSHOT.

Let me know if anything needs update before that. Transifex translations have been updated also this morning.

Join on IRC if anything needs to be discussed.

Thanks.
