I am trying integrate a simple html page into geonetwork. I have added the
reference in the left menu and I want to open it in the same page (like when
you open a categorie or is done a search). How could I do it?

I have the same needs. I tried to follow the model of GN but it is too hard,
you have to create a service for each simple thing you want to include, its
a nightmare!
I created a banner button with a link to a new frame and I had to touch in 4
or 5 files to reach the objective and in the final, stop and start the
service again, it is too much work. Even to include a image I had to
recreate the service.
