Dear all
I'm working on an AJAX version of InterMap. Hopefully tomorrow it will be available on the SourceForge SVN repository, for today I published a live demo on
http://intermap.mysdi.org/intermap/
Many features are still missing and some are not working fine but you can get an idea of how the final application will be. Comments are welcome!
Next steps will be:
- Reimplement all the old features using AJAX (zoom in, full extent and layers reordering already done; zoom out, move and others are missing)
- Add support to protected map services (user authentication)
- Add WFS and WCS download module
- Refine user interface
- Special interface to add maps published by GeoNetwork
- Maybe integration with OpenLayers

Thanks, I'll work on it. I'll put the source on SVN before monday, I am actually packaging it and reading SVN howtos...

Nice work! I immediately noticed two obvious things, but it won't hurt to report them:
- When selecting some layers from a server, a new window is opened to display the map (using Firefox)
- When zooming in, it would be good to receive feedback from the application that its working on the request (a sandbox or so indicating the user has to wait before further action is taken. Maybe further (zoom) actions should be blocked until new map is visible?
