[GeoNetwork-devel] ISO 19139 standard

Hi list,

I would like to have some information concerning the support of the ISO 19139
standard. Do the next version of Geonetwork (2.1) will implement and support
the ISO 19139 standard??

Any idea about that? How many times before upgrade?

Hi Mathieu,

yes, geonetwork 2.1 will have ISO19139 support.
The relase date has not been planned yet but it will be not before May/2007.

Here is a rough plan:

- by November
    - have SOAP support into CSW
    - Finish harvesting
    - services to import/export metadata

- by December
    - have geonetwork as a reference implementation for the CSW spec
    - web form to localize groups, regions etc...

- by February :
    - OAI-PMH protocol

- by May/June (depending on many factors)
    - have a CSW server for the Earth Observation profile
    - manage EO metadata
