[GeoNetwork-devel] Issue with RSS Feed

Hi everyone,

I have an issue with the RSS feed for MEST/GeoNetwork. I want to get record
updates sent to my Outlook account using the existing RSS feed. To do this,
I first installed "RSS Popper", a plug-in to allow Outlook 2003 to accept
RSS feeds. When I first set up the MEST RSS feed with Outlook, I received a
bunch of emails that correctly showed all the records that had been recently
added or updated. Unfortunately, any following updates were not being sent
to my email (but they were being displayed on the MEST page).

When the server shuts down, however, I get error messages ("unable to
connect to server"), meaning there is a connection between Outlook and MEST.
Does anyone have the same issue or has any found a way to fix this? I would
really appreciate any help. Thanks.

p.s. I am using MEST 2.4.3.

Hi, here is an update.

The issue lies with MEST unable to refresh its RSS feed page. After
uploading a record, I am forced to click the "GEORSS" button (in the
featured section) manually to update the RSS web page . Upon doing so, the
new record update is reflected in the RSS page (the one with the url
:"http://localhost:8080/geonetwork/srv/en/rss.latest?georss=simplepoint"\).
Once the change gets reflected, my Outlook account gets the email updates.
Is there a way to fix this manual refresh issue? And is anyone else having
this problem? Thanks.
