Hi All, [Previously posted to GeoNetwork user-group, so apologies if it’s a repeat for you] We’re having a small issue with the uploading of files to our GeoNetwork (2.2) server as a “File for Download” online resource. The problem is that when it gets uploaded, the URL constructed by the server for the “Linkage” field starts with “http://localhost…” instead of the server name. Obviously, this means the URL links to the user’s client machine rather than the server where the uploaded file resides. Has anyone else seen this problem? I was thinking it might be a configuration issue, but I can’t find any reference to “localhost” in the installation. Of course, people could manually edit the Linkage field before saving the record, but it’s not intuitive to do this. Best regards, Andy

Hi Andy,
The download link created on upload is constructed from the host name
and port details that are specified in System Configuration settings
accessed from the administration page within geonetwork. I believe the
default setting on installation is localhost, but this is normally
changed to reflect the actual host name geonetwork will be accessed by.
If you change these settings after you have created some metadata you
would normally run the metadata sync option within gast to update all
download urls in existing geonetwork metadata to reflect the new host
name/port.
Regards,
CraigJ
