Which MEF file version is the latest trunk build of GeoNetwork using in its MEF Import service (../geonetwork/srv/en/mef.import)?
My MEF insert ETL script stopped working with our last GeoNetwork upgrade (build 5825). We use MEF files for bulk loading of metadata records because the CSW insert was too slow, unreliable, and required additional, manual steps (permissions, icons, etc.). I would like to know if our "home made" MEF files need to be upgraded to the 2.0 format or if there is a bug somewhere else.
BTW, where can I find the specifications for MEF 2.0? I only found a proposal at http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/wiki/MEFImprovement
Ciao, Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
2010/7/19 Wolfgang Grunberg <wgrunberg@anonymised.com>:
Which MEF file version is the latest trunk build of GeoNetwork using

MEF 1 should be supported by the service (the service try to detect
which version is coming in). What kind of errors did you get ?
BTW, where can I find the specifications for MEF 2.0? I only found a
proposal at http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/wiki/MEFImprovement
Basically MEF2 is a collection of MEF1 with one directory for each
metadata record (with profil and iso19110 records embedded when
available).
Cheers.
Francois

Hi Francois,
It has been a while since I ran my import scripts. I remember the error message to be pretty generic.
I will get back to you once I have compiled a new version and test again.
Ciao, Wolfgang
