Hi,
Jeroen told me to start moving things on metadata 101[1] so we can
start working with a common metadata profiles repository.
The first thing we should do is to move the existing profiles from the
geonetwork repository[2] to the external metadata 101 repository[1]
but without all geonetwork specific parts so other third party
software can use the profiles. Then I will set up some kind of
documentation and automatic procedure to build schema profile
directories for geonetwork based on this metadata 101 repository. (I
was thinking some maven plugin[3])
At this point I was wondering what parts of the current schemas are
going to be needed in geonetwork and what parts can be removed
completely. For example, I guess that all the XSLT files regarding
editors will not be needed anymore, right? What about the metadata
views (this also relates to Jesse's question about the metadata view)?
Anything else you know for sure that is completely deprecated?
Is it ok for you if we start using this metadata 101 for geonetwork 3
instead of geonetwork 2?
Any comments/suggestions about how to do this?
