Dear PSC,
I would like to motion to make the v2.4.0 release on Monday, including a range of fixes to RC2 that have been put in over the last two weeks (including some that come this weekend). Only this week we received a final test suite for CSW 2.0.2 and tests have revealed that we can deal with a large part of the required tests but not with all. Some of those, not necessarily blockers for a normal CSW operation, need some more time to be dealt with. However, I feel that the status of the current v2.4.0 code is ready for a release now. We can provide a minor release at a later stage that passes all CSW tests of the test suite.
I will go on holidays on Tuesday, and thus can't make a release after Monday unless it is postponed until after mid August. I think that is not a good idea.
Please let me have your votes as soon as possible, greetings,
Jeroen

Maybe it would be better having a RC3, with the notice that final version will
have the CSW fixed. Just my 2c.
Cheers,
Emanuele

Hello Emanuele,
2009/7/19 Emanuele Tajariol <e_tajariol@anonymised.com>:
Maybe it would be better having a RC3, with the notice that final version will
have the CSW fixed. Just my 2c.
CSW is working and has been improved in 2.4 (see [1]) but does not
pass all OGC testsuite flavours.
The ISO profil testsuite failed on one test testing complex spatial
filter in a mix of AND/OR clauses.
The new one (announced last week) is in beta stage.
More details here on current status [2].

+1 from me - so many things I'd like to do but there is always 2.4.x...
Cheers,
Simon
