Hi Michelle,
The conflicts you can have are:
1- same servlet name
2- same servlet port
3- same Z39.50 port
4- same dbms port
Using Tomcat, (1) and (2) are automatically avoided. If you use a dbms other
than the embedded one, (4) should be avoided too. If not, you have to change
both the WEB-INF/db/db.conf (use a port other than 9157, like 9158) and the
config.xml (the resource part, specifying the new port).
(3) can be easily changed editing the config.xml file (app handler section).
If you are using GN 2.1 beta1, you can use GAST for (1), (2) and (4) and the
online config page for (3).
If you still have problems, please send me the log files of the 2 instances.
Cheers,
Andrea
Jeroen, Andrea:
We have searched the GeoNetwork forums and even submitted this question
but have heard no answer. Am hoping you can help us out ...We are trying to run 2 instances of GeoNetwork on our Linux server. One
instance will run as a portal for South America and the second instance
will replace our old Blue Angel Z39.50 gateway.
Our 2 instances seem to have conflicts with each other with the database
and the searching components. Is it possible to run multiple instances, each in their own
tomcat/webapps/ folder and each with their own database, without
conflicts? Is there anything special that we must do?Thanks

I don't know what is going on with intermap. I copied Stefano, the
