Hey,
I just checked out the latest version from github and am having
problems compiling ...
First off, I assume that I just need to clone core-geonetwork in order
to get things working right?
The error I get when using mvn clean install on core-geonetwork is a
failed test inside Jeeves:
- Running jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest
Tests run: 5, Failures: 2, Errors: 2, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed:
0.275sec <<< FAILURE!
Results :
Failed tests:
updateConfig(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest):
expected:<[fre]> but was: <[eng]>
loadFile(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest):
expected:<CREATE TABLE [New]Relations> but was :<CREATE TABLE
Relations>
Tests in error:
updateLoggingConfig(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest):
The resource file /WEB-INF/logfile1.properties is not a file and not a
web resource: null. Perhaps a leading / was forgotten?
imports(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest): The resource
file /WEB-INF/overrides-config.xml is not a file and not a web
resource: null. Perhaps a leading / was forgotten?
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
If I remove the test then I get errors when I attempt to start
geonetwork (having built an installer and used it) stating that a
database initialization failed. Stopping the server and starting it
again does then say it deploys, however it spits up a database error
in the browser then. I have attached files containing the error
messages that I got from this (first_start.log, second_start.log,
geonetwork error in browser.txt).
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Elgar Storm
PS I have attached the log files for the jeeves test crash
(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.txt,
TEST-jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.xml)
(attachments)
jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.txt (11.8 KB)
TEST-jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.xml (17.7 KB)
first_start.log (49.4 KB)
geonetwork error in browser.txt (6.49 KB)
second_start.log (51.3 KB)
Just guessing but I think it is probably related to the path separators. I need to run windows to test I think. Are you building on windows?

I have made a change so the build will hopefully work on windows. But I don’t have enough information about why it is not starting for you. Some additional information:
what command are you using to start geonetwork?
Try updating and doing a full build. I changed how configuration overrides are resolved so hopefully it will solve your problem.

jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.txt (11.5 KB)
I investigated a bit in the meantime and the cause of the problem is that the
test-case tries to access the files "logfile1.properties" and
"/WEB-INF/overrides-config.xml" (which is obvious looking at the
test-results). But in addition to the fact that those files don´t exist the
folder where the test-suite is searching for them doesn´t exist as well. The
folder would be
<geonetwork-base-folder>\jeeves\target\test-classes\correct-webapp whereas
there´s no "testclasses"-folder at all in the target-directory. Don´t know
what the reason for this might be but hope this remarks are of any help.
Best regards

OK, problem solved. I moved the Geonetwork-sources to a folder without blanks
in the folder-name. Now the build-process is running smoothly.

I investigated a bit in the meantime and the cause of the problem is that
the test-case tries to access the files "logfile1.properties" and
"/WEB-INF/overrides-config.xml" (which is obvious looking at the
test-results). But in addition to the fact that those files don´t exist
the folder where the test-suite is searching for them doesn´t exist as
well. The folder would be
<geonetwork-base-folder>
\jeeves\target\test-classes\correct-webapp whereas there´s no
"testclasses"-folder at all in the target-directory. Don´t know what the
reason for this might be but hope this remarks are of any help.
Best regards
Max Stephan

clean checkout from github
Could you email me the surefire test result files?

Hi Jesse,
I cloned the 2.8.x-repository yesterday and experience the very same
problem
when trying to build (2 of 5 surefire-tests fail). Any idea what I could
do
to fix this?
Best regards and thanks in advance

I have made a change so the build will hopefully work on windows. But I
don't have enough information about why it is not starting for you.
Some
additional information:
what command are you using to start geonetwork?
Try updating and doing a full build. I changed how configuration
overrides
are resolved so hopefully it will solve your problem.

Just guessing but I think it is probably related to the path

I need to run windows to test I think. Are you building on windows?

Hey,
I just checked out the latest version from github and am having
problems compiling ...
First off, I assume that I just need to clone core-geonetwork in order
to get things working right?
The error I get when using mvn clean install on core-geonetwork is a
failed test inside Jeeves:
- Running jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest
Tests run: 5, Failures: 2, Errors: 2, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed:

loadFile(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest):

<CREATE TABLE [New]Relations>
but was :
<CREATE TABLE
Relations>
Tests in error:
updateLoggingConfig(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest):
The resource file /WEB-INF/logfile1.properties is not a file and not a
web resource: null. Perhaps a leading / was forgotten?
imports(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest): The resource
file /WEB-INF/overrides-config.xml is not a file and not a web
resource: null. Perhaps a leading / was forgotten?
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
If I remove the test then I get errors when I attempt to start
geonetwork (having built an installer and used it) stating that a
database initialization failed. Stopping the server and starting it
again does then say it deploys, however it spits up a database error
in the browser then. I have attached files containing the error
messages that I got from this (first_start.log, second_start.log,
geonetwork error in browser.txt).
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Elgar Storm
PS I have attached the log files for the jeeves test crash
(jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.txt,
TEST-jeeves.server.ConfigurationOveridesTest.xml)
