[GeoNetwork-devel] Proposal : MEF improvement

Dear PSC members,

I would like to propose an improvement to the MEF format.

New features are :
* multi-metadata support : be able to have more than one metadata
record in a single MEF file.
* multi-metadata format support : be able to store in a single MEF n
formats (eg. for ISO profil, also store ISO19139 record)
* related metadata export : export related metadata in the MEF file.
Related metadata record could be :
  * child metadata (Using parentUuid search field)
  * service metadata (Using operatesOn search field)
  * related metadata (Using xml.relation.get service)

Some JUnit tests have been added to test import/export for XML, MEF1
and MEF2 format.

The complete proposal is available here [1] and patch here [2].

If motion pass, this new feature will be added to GeoNetwork trunk
(for 2.5 release).

This development was first made in the GéoSource sandbox.

Looking forward to your votes, Regards.

Francois
