[GeoNetwork-devel] Proposals posted

Hi all,

I have now posted to the Trac site the text of several proposals
discussed here previously. We welcome additional discussion and look
forward to the PSC vote, when appropriate.

I have not posted proposals concerning changes to the Z39.50 or the
thesaurus functions since there are on-going efforts that may either
duplicate the efforts or eliminate the needs entirely. I'd like to see
how those proceed before pursuing an independent effort.

I have also split out the proposals for Local Harvest and Remote
Searching into separate proposals although they were initially presented
together in my earlier emails.

Best wishes for a very happy and healthy new year to all of you here!

Hello Archie,

2009/12/28 Archie Warnock <warnock@anonymised.com>:

Hi all,

I have now posted to the Trac site the text of several proposals
discussed here previously. We welcome additional discussion and look
forward to the PSC vote, when appropriate.

Thanks Archie for those proposals.

For the enhanced harvesting for Z39.50, you could have a look to the
geocat.ch and maybe more on the bluenet sandbox, because we worked on
that with Simon. See
https://geonetwork.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/geonetwork/sandbox/BlueNetMEST/src/org/fao/geonet/kernel/harvest/harvester/z3950/

For PSC vote, could you point to the proposal which are ready for vote
? could you attach patch to those proposal for a review ? Patch is not
a requirement for a proposal I think, but when we have time, it's a
nice to have for testing.

Cheers.

Francois

Yes, that's the plan and it's why I didn't actually include the Z39.50
proposal I mentioned in my initial email.

No patches available yet - we're waiting for the PSC vote to get a
sandbox set up so we can generate them. I'll post a list of the
proposals ready for voting this week.

Thanks for the input!

Hi Archie,
I've created the sandbox for you. You can find it under /sandbox/fgdc_geonetwork
Please let me know if there's a requirement to have other developers added to the SVN so they can commit to the sandbox. For commit access to sandboxes the requirement is that they accept the committer guidelines and that they only commit to the sandbox.
Apologies for the delayed creation of the sandbox.
Greetings,
Jeroen

Hi Archie,
I hope this email finds you well. We have moved the below mentioned proposals to the archive since we are not sure what the status of them is at present.

If you would still like to integrate them in GeoNetwork, please consider updating them and putting them up for vote each one individually again.
Thanks and greetings,
Jeroen

I think that's fine. Thanks for your patience - they sort of got away from me. Y'all generate code at an impressive pace!

Cheers to all!
