I would actually like to use a different map. May be a flash based solution that would load faster and is not dependent on a WMS service. Also, the QuickWMS does not run on Safari on the Mac… I’m not sure what causes that, but it seems inherent for some of the map clients 
MapBuilder has the same issue.
So I would suggest that if you know of a good, lightweight browse map build in Flash (not a Java applet!) than we can work on getting that into the opensource verison.
