[GeoNetwork-devel] Re wms / intermap problem

sorry, i think i was too fast !!

We cannot use EPSG:4326 :frowning:

We need to use UTM zone 29N, WGS84 (epsg:32629), and this is very crucial to
us !
And epsg:32629 is not working :frowning:

Is there another solution ?

Hi Petur, could you try to add the EPSG:4326 (WGS84) code to you mapfile

...

WEB / METADATA / "ows_srs" "EPSG:4326 EPSG:32629"

I'm not sure Intermap could deal with all proj system.

Just a hint. Not sure

Francois.

I am writing again, because no one is giving me an answer, and i cannot

find

any documentation on the internet.

I am still trying, and hope to see a map from our wms server in
geonetwork/intermap.
When i am on this site (popup):

http://lv-ternan.fds.fo:8080/geonetwork/intermap/srv/fo/mapServers.listServers

To the right of "Map Server" I choose "- Other WMS server (specify below)"
and to the right of "Specify if other:" i write:

http://www.kagi.fo/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=c:/heimasidur/Kagi/Data/peturkirkeUTM.map

Then i get a very nice screen with information about all the data
and layers, and everything looks fine so far. Then i choose some
layers, and push "OK" at the bottom. Than i get a nice screen where
the map should arrive, but the image isnt there - or, there is an
image, but only with the x at the top left
corner, that means it cannot show the image.

Do you know what i have done wrong ? Can i see the error message anywhere

?

Petur, It depends what you want to do. Could you not use both in the service
? Then user will choose one projection system.

If you set in your mapfile
WEB / METADATA / "ows_srs" "EPSG:4326 EPSG:32629"
People who connect to your webservice will be able to choose between WGS and
UTM zone 29N.
If you provide only WEB / METADATA / "ows_srs" "EPSG:32629", some client
able to view only WGS84 will not be able to query your service.

Intermap need WGS84 (it looks that there is no reprojection capability in
Intermap - Stefano correct me if needed ?). But if other applications want
to display your data in UTM, It will be also available on your webservice.
In general, I think it's a good practice to allow at least WGS84 in your
WMS.

For more information on how to manage projection on you webservice (see
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/docs/howto/wms_server) and maybe move that
discussion to mapserver mailling list.

Cheers. Francois

Is there no plan to implement other projections like for example EPSG:32629
into InterMap ?
Or is there any possibility that you can implement it for us ???

Hi Petur,
This is a problem with respect to InterMap. We use 4326 as default
and we did not add the option to change the projection in the client.
However, adding the different EPSG codes to the map file will allow
other clients (most likely thick ones) of the services to request the
map in EPSG:32629 projection.
(I am not sure if 4326 is the mandatory and default WMS projection!?)
Ciao,
Jeroen

Is there any plans to add the option to change the projection in the
InterMap client ?
