[GeoNetwork-devel] Release Candidate v2.10.0RC0 now available for testing

Dear all, You can now download and test the release candidate (v2.10.0RC0) of GeoNetwork opensource: https://sourceforge.net/projects/geonetwork/files/GeoNetwork_unstable_development_versions/2.10.0RC0/

The installer is multiplatform and should also work on Windows systems.

You can find a list of new functionality at http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/wiki/proposals/release2.10.0.
and a list of fixes and changes at https://github.com/geonetwork/core-doc-sources/blob/890a4e549f554746e7687b16abef5cc55ef88c18/changes2.10.x.txt .

If you have any fixed or improvements you want to contribute back, the best is to use git to get a local copy of the source code, apply the fix and put out a Pull Request so your improvements can be integrated quickly. Otherwise you can also create new Tickets in the issue tracker (http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork).

Looking forward to your testing, feedback and contributions.

The release of GeoNetwork opensource v2.10.0 stable is planned for end of May.

Thanks to all developers and contributors! Happy testing,

Francois

Hi,

Picked up 2.10.0RC0 and ran it with an Apache Tomcat server seven.0.22. I’ve attached the error log. Looks like a stylesheet issue when I try to navigate to the admin page using the widgets view. With the classic view throws an error straight away when I try to open the home page. Attaching that error as well. Tested with both FF 18.0 and IE8.

Could you try to deploy the webapp/war outside of "C:\Program Files" and see if it’s better (eg. c:\geonetwork) ?

Hi,

That worked! Must be Apache’s handy work not reading program files…… Thanks.

Question: 2.6.4 had LDAP authentication under system configuration. It looks like it has been removed from the newer versions ( at least in 2.8 to my knowledge) and left with shibboleth only…What do I do to integrate with AD users within the organisation?

LDAP is still supported but via SpringSecurity. See
http://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/trunk/eng/users/admin/authentication/index.html#ldap
for
configuration instruction (much more flexible than in previous version).

Cheers.
