[Geonetwork-devel] Relocating GeoNetwork Installation.

Dear All,

We currently have an operational GeoNetwork node, using MySql and
jetty but will be upgrading the server upon which it is installed.

Can anyone advise me how to move the installation to a new server so
that our current catalog remains intact.

Hi Richard, for the database, you could safely use McKoi export / import
functionality to move your db from on server to another. When using export,
select mckoi internal format (not csv).

Thanks for the tip - as mentioned I am using MySql as our database.
Does anyone have any tips for this? My main concern is how to ensure
that thumbnails, which, as I understand, are stored externally to the
database, can be safely moved.

Sorry Richard, I wanted to say use Druid (and not Mckoi) for export /import
all db (migration from oracle to mysql works fine for me)

For thumbnails, copy / paste should work if metadata ids are not modified ?
Andrea should be able to confirm ?

Yes, that's correct. Just make sure the configured data directory is the same in the config.xml file
