[GeoNetwork-devel] REPEATED CFV : Clustering GeoNetwork

dear PSC,

this probably has escaped your attention, or for other reasons you haven’t voted.

Meanwhile we have discussed this proposal privately with François and Jesse; created a fully functional test cluster; updated the proposal page; and added a patch to the proposal.

Thanks for your prompt votes,

Heikki Doeleman & Jose García

Heikki,

I have a question about the XLINK cache (in JCS) - should the cache be in the messaging system? Reason is that the cache should be consistent across the nodes otherwise its possible you might receive a different metadata record depending on which node you get the record from as the information in the XLINK reference may have changed (its not always tied to an indexing event).

Cheers,
Simon

Hi Simon

I think so, any cache used should be synchronized using the messaging. We’ll check to update the code.

Thanks for pointing it.

Jose García

Thanks for the patch Heikki, but it looks like there is some issues in it:

* org.fao.geonet.jms package is not in ?
* the patch looks to rollback many changes made last week on trunk.
Some examples:
* metadata-status.xsl
* +++ web/src/main/java/org/fao/geonet/kernel/Schema.java (working
copy) remove dependElements
* +++ web/src/main/java/org/fao/geonet/kernel/SchemaManager.java (working
copy) remove some Javadoc
* + <param name="query" value="SELECT * FROM Groups WHERE internal =
'n ' ORDER BY name" />
sould be
   + <param name="query" value="SELECT * FROM Groups WHERE internal =
'n' ORDER BY name" />
maybe ?
* Maybe it's better to use Logger instead of:
System.out.println("\n\n\n\n\n** initialize\n\n\n\n");
System.err.println(x.getMessage());
System.out.println("calculating groupdir for md with id: '" + id + "'");
to keep all message to log file

About synchronization, maybe you should take care of schema loaded by
a node, maybe others should receive a message too to reload schemas ?

Cheers.

Francois

PS : I uploaded the patch removing some of the unrelated sections to
load balancing to make it easier to read.
