[GeoNetwork-devel] RV: How to modify metadata view

Hi all,

I am working on a custom installation of Geonetwork 2.10.4. At the moment I have downloaded the war, put it under Tomcat, connect to PostGis and do several layout modifications. So far so good.

The problem now is that I have been requested to customize both the simple and default view of the catalog metadata page. I need to remove some sections and show some other present in the metadata XML file. I have been searching deeply where this metadata views are generated, and I could not find what XSL renders the HTML that the server sends back to the client. I have found some good candidates, but no changes in them had any result in the page that shows up in the browser. Some of the XSL files that I have changes are metadata.xsl or metadata-edit.xsl.

So the thing is, what am I missing? Am I toching the wrong files or are there any other steps to take?

Regards,

César

I believe that for all the widgets interfaces (including HTML5UI), the startpoint is in xsl/metadata/view/view.xsl and it calls the schema-specific XSL files, that are located in [geonetwork-data-dir]/config/schema-plugins/[the-schema-you-want-to-customize]/present/
