Hi,
Does any one know where the sources for this jar is? I can’t seem to find the changes with the patch. I would like to add them to the repository.

Hi Jesse, I don’t know either.
But the 9.1.0.8b source are here http://sourceforge.net/projects/saxon/files/Saxon-B/9.1.0.8/
I think we stick to the 9.1.0.8 version because of Java extension support (which is not available in Saxon HE now). Not sure what was added to the patched version.

Hi,
If I remember this right, it is Simon who knows what is behind this
patched version. It was something related to Windows. Maybe we don't
need a patched version anymore?

María.

Yes the problem happened around 2011 (but it doesn't have anything to do with windows :-)) - it was some code in saxon 9.1.0.8b that tripped a bug in the JVM (1.6 at that time) causing out of memory errors whilst doing XSLT processing. It was a pretty serious bug and the fix was to make a change to some very obscure part of saxon, hence we now have saxon jars in our maven_repo..... Never been tested to see whether the problem is still present in later JVMs (which could be a research problem now to see what trips it....).
The fix suggested by the saxon devs was to upgrade to 9.2 (at that time) but we couldn't (and still can't) do that because we could only use the HE edition of Saxon which doesn't have all the features we rely on (saxon extensions, call out to java etc).
I can check the code to build our patched 9.1.0.8b jars - but where?
Cheers,
Simon

Just to clarify: I have the code to check in, need to know where it should go in our repo.
