[GeoNetwork-devel] Support for other schemas in Geonetwork

Hi list,

We are trying to add a new schema into Geonetwork. Specifically we need to support the UK Gemini profile of ISO19115, for which we have obtained the XML schema files (modified from the ISO19139 XML implementation). Question is, how to make Geonetwork support another schema? Which files need modifying and recompiling?

How is it that the ISO 19115 schema included with Geonetwork seems to have a very different structure to the ISO19139 you download from ISO? I don’t understand why this is the case. Everything is in a single schema.xsd file with some changes in schema-suggestions.xsd. Do we need to give our UK Gemini schema the same structure? How do we do this?

Cheers,

Greg Byrom

Hi Grec,
I suggest you first browse the developer list archive as this has been discussed a number of times there. No recompiling is needed, all done through schemas and XSL. Also, you may want to check the alpha release of GN 2.1 since that version will support ISO19115 based on the ISO19139 schemas. GN 2.0 and previous versions used ISO19115-DIS and we have only now started using ISO19139.
In the archives, you’ll find the URL to the alpha 2 release.
Ciao,
Jeroen

Greg,
It seems sourceforge.net is down (at least for me). alpha 2 can be downloaded from there (when up again ;-).
