[GeoNetwork-devel] Transferring ownership of Metadata

Hi List,

Having recently started adding some metadata to our instance of GeoNetwork, I would now like to transfer the ownership of these records to another user. However, when I try this from the Administrator page, an alert dialogue pops up informing me:

"There are no editors with associated metadata".

What does this mean? I've been using a build from SVN to make use of the recently-added ISO 19119 support. Would this make a difference?

Any ideas would be very welcome.

Many thanks,

Andy

I'll have a go at answering this one and maybe the author can correct me if I'm wrong:

If you are logged in as an administrator then you'll get a list of metadata record owners that are editors - if there aren't any then you'll get the message "There are no editors....".

If you are logged in as a useradmin then you'll get a list of metadata record owners that are editors and share the same set of groups as you - if there aren't any then you'll get the message "There are no editors....".

A catch here is to make sure that all registered users have a surname and name field - otherwise the select lists shown by transfer ownership will be blank.

Work is needed on some additional owner based functions to add to 'Transfer Ownership'.

Cheers,
Simon
