Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your votes!
But through this way I want to especially thank you for all the work and commitment to the project when it was in its early stages!! You have made significant and sound contributions at that time and it was a great experience for me to work with you those years. I’m convinced that I speak for many, many users of the GeoNetwork software who work with the software and have no idea about the volume of core code they use that was contributed by yourself.
So thank you again for all the work and your contributions as a software engineer, PSC member, person and friend!
Cheers,
Jeroen

Hi all,
it has been a long time since my last vote, I hope you are all fine! My previous email address is no longer active and I did not provide the new one (actually I changed it two times…), sorry.
More than four years have passed now and my GeoNetwork knowledge is almost stale. Furthermore, I do not have time to follow the various discussions. I would like to provide my last vote for the open motions and then ask to be removed from the PSC: I don’t want to negatively bias the PSC with a vote that does not reflect a deep understanding of the issue.
Now, regarding the issues:
+1 for Francois (good point)
0 for Simon. Here, I understand the issue and I agree that an history (not a version control) is useful. Anyway, I see some issues with a version control system.
- an external system complicates both the installation and administration of GN. Furthermore, I see the need only for an history.
- the svn operations will for sure have transactional issues when embedded into the update transaction: if the transaction fails after the svn operation, data is inconsistent.
Cheers,
AndreaPS: please, forward this email to the mailing list, because I’m no longer registered.

Oggetto: Two proposals that need your input and votes

Hi PSC Members
As you would know the GeoNetwork code sprint is currently under way at geocat.
However there are two proposals that really need to be accepted/rejected
before too many other changes are made as otherwise the proposers might need
to spend quite a lot of time working out conflicts. The outstanding proposals
are:
Francois: on boosting:
http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/wiki/proposals/DocumentAndFieldBoosting (from
24/12/11)&
Simon: on capturing metadata changes/versioning:
http://trac.osgeo.org/geonetwork/wiki/metadatachanges (from 13/01/11)
I realize that everyone is busy but could I ask that you take a look at
these and comment and/or vote as soon as possible please? I’d welcome any
questions or suggestions and I’m sure Francois would too.
Cheers and thanks,
Simon
