[GeoNetwork-devel] WAF harvester change date

Hi

WAF harvester doesn’t manage the last update date for metadata. I want to propose a change to retrieve this information and use it like in other harvesters. I see 2 options:

  1. Use URLConnection.getLastModified() to retrieve the change date of the file.

For now checking about this option, but not clear if has a big performance penalty.

  1. When parsing the main page to get the list of files, get change date information as seem part of the html content (at least with the server I’m testing)

This option should be faster for performance, but relays on html structure and no clear if this page structure is the same always and also can have issues with date formats.

Any feedback from the people that developed WAF harvester can be helpful.
