[GeoNetwork-devel] Will moving to Maven3 cause GeoNetwork problems? [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi All,

I am having trouble with maven 2.0.9 on a particular Debian computer when building some other Java application into a WAR file. The information in the filter configuration files is not getting through to the right places when 'mvn clean package' is run.

Apparently my colleague has been able to build the WAR file using the same Java application and maven 2 on a Windows XP platform but I'm not very good with Windows and I don't have administration rights on my Windows XP computer.

I thought that the problem may be fixed if I load maven 3 onto the Debian computer and then try to build the WAR file again but I don't know if it will break building the GeoNetwork WAR files.

Will an apt-get install maven3 over write maven2?

Has anybody built GeoNetwork with maven 3 or do you know if it will break building the GeoNetwork WAR files?

Thanks.

John H.

I have had no problems with maven 3 and have been using it with geonetwork for … oh nearly a year now. It gives warning many of which have been fixed more recently.
