[GeoNetwork-devel] XML Services in GeoNetwork version 3.4.x

Dear All,

Can someone please confirm that version 3.4.x of GeoNetwork includes the XML Services with equivalent functionality as existing on version 2.10.x ?

https://geonetwork-opensource.org/manuals/2.10.4/eng/developer/xml_services/index.html

It seems that there is no documentation for version 3 regarding this topic ?

If the interface exists, how the user shall be authenticated in the transactional requests of such interface (insert, update, deleted ) ? is it using the basic authentication on http header on the request to the GeoNewtork server ?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance,

BR,

Hi Carlos

GeoNetwork 3.x still supports that services as deprecated. Note that some of them can differ a bit as the doc is not well maintained.

There’s a new API that uses Swagger for documentation, you can access the test interface in http://SERVER/geonetwork/doc/api/

Hi Carlos,

The documentation is on the endpoint that Jose pointed you out: http://SERVER/geonetwork/doc/api/

The API is a common REST API based on Java/Spring. Swagger is the documentation framework we use to generate the docs.

Hi Carlos

Usually the new API services contain documentation for Swagger that is displayed in the Swagger page.

You can find also the code for the API services in https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork/tree/master/services/src/main/java/org/fao/geonet/api
