Dear all,
I have installed a test version of GN 2.6 with Tomcat / Postgres using
the excellent "Mastering Advanced GeoNetwork" documentation. I logged
into GeoNetwork and tried to made some first changes in the
administration section, e.g. adding a new user, adding templates and
sample data. These changes are stored in the Postgres database, but when
I try to add new metadata in the administration section the error "No
templates available, import metadata first" occurs. Seems like it is
possible to write into Postgres, but not to read data from Postgres.
Thanks in advance for any help with this problem.
Many greetings,
Heiko
Hi Heiko
Can you check in the geonetwork.log file for any error when imported the
templates?
You can try also using admin user, in Advanced Search > Restrict To > Kind =
Template if returns results, to verify that the templates were loaded
correctly.
Regards,
Jose García

Hi Heiko,
your problem might be, that there simply is no template up to now?
There are a few templates in GeoNetwork when you install the thing. These
templates can only be used by those users who have the right to do so.
For example:
Elke has rights to group "Erster Katalog".
Bernd has rights to group "Zweiter Katalog".
admin has rights to everything.
admin creates a template for "Zweiter Katalog".
Bernd is able to use this template. For Elke it is invisible. Therefore she
is not able to create any metadata.
Templates and metadata need to have "privileges". If they do not have the
correct privileges for groups some persons are not able to see either the
metadata, nor the templates. If you´d like a German guide on that one, just
send an E-Mail to gdi@anonymised.com
Greetings
Anja
