[GeoNetwork-users] Broken file download

Hi Users

My previous post - cant create record is linked to using the Chrome browser, I have tested using IE and using FireFox and both of these browsers work. Even a direct XML copy in raw mode using chrome did not work.

But I have moved on for now, and I created a metadata record, which has a file associated with it.

http://auscope-portal-dev.arrc.csiro.au/geonetwork/srv/en/metadata.show?id=56566

however the link that geonetwork produces is

http://localhost:8080/geonetwork/srv/en/resources.get?id=56566&fname=LatrobeValley_with3D.pdf&access=private

which is not right, and I can't edit it either, any change I make to that box is lost by the interface, and the previous value comes back.

I am also presented with a broken remove button as attached.

What do I need to do to fix the rendering and the URL location?

Hi Terry

I think this is caused by the Server configuration in "System configuration"
parameters, probably contains default configuration (localhost, 8080).

You need to change Host to auscope-portal-dev.arrc.csiro.au and Port to 80.

This should solve at least the problem for new metadata you create with
associated files.

For existing metadata, i hope editing and saving the metadata (after
previous change), the URL link will be updated with new server config.

Jose Garcia

Hi Terry,

Maybe be that your server host and port in System->Admin Config
are set to localhost and port 8080.

Go to System->Admin Config page and try changing these to auscope-portal-dev.arrc.csiro.au
and port 80 respectively.

Ahh - Your both right.

Thanks guys

I was under the assumption that the little things like server config had been done.... looks like I was wrong.

I have done a DB level search and no other records are currently using the repository function on that instance.

Any ideas about the 'remove button' for that file record? Its broken on both FF and IE browsers.

Hi Terry,
Beyond changing that setting, you could then fix the metadata URLs using GAST. GAST is a desktop administration tool for GeoNetwork that was also installed with GeoNetwork. Please refer to the manual to understand how to do this. After configuring the connection in GAST run the Metadata sync task.

hello Terry,

in my opinion it is a usability bug that an element appears to be an
editable input field, but if you change it, you're change isn't saved.

Should we create a bug report in trac for it ?

Kind regards

I think so – even a tool tip that tells you this is a GeoNetwork Managed feild or something like that.

And the other render bug which is the remove button is broken
